Who it's for

Quoting software for painting contractors

Draw the room once. The walls come off the perimeter and the height, the ceiling off the floor, the trim off the line around it.

Measured in: Wall area for the finish, ceiling area, linear feet of trim, and doors counted.

The quantity is the wall, and the wall is not the floor

This is the only trade in the book whose real measurement stands up rather than lying down. Three rooms coming to 1,080 square feet of wall sit on about 380 square feet of floor: quote the floor by mistake and the job is a third of its size. Drawlite takes the walls off the same outline as the ceiling, using the height on the room, so the two numbers cannot disagree.

Two coats is the price, one coat is the can

Every finish row in the seeded book carries the coverage for the system it is sold as, not the figure printed on the tin. That is why the gallons the takeoff asks you to buy are roughly twice the figure on the label, and why the job does not run out of paint on the second day.

Doors are counted, trim is run, masking is area

Three different units on one repaint, because that is how the work is actually done. A square-foot rate that swallows the trim and the doors is a quote that covers about half of its own labor, and it is the most common shape of an underpriced repaint.

The price book this trade starts with

Every row below is seeded into a new painting account on the day it is created, with these rates. They are realistic US mid-market numbers for 2026 and they are the first thing you would change -- but nobody starts from a blank page, and nothing on this site is a figure invented for a landing page.
