Fence cost calculator
Fencing is sold by the foot and bought by the bag. Both are below.
Nothing is sent anywhere: the arithmetic runs in this page. The prefilled rates are the ones a new Drawlite account in this trade starts with, and the first thing you would do in the app is replace them with yours.
Price the run, not the holes
Posts go in at 8 foot centres, so posts and feet are the same number wearing a different hat. A price book that asks the estimator to count holes gets abandoned on the second quote -- the fence installer is looking at a line on the ground, not a row of dots. The footing line here is per linear foot and still orders concrete by the bag, because the supplier does not sell feet.
The two lines everybody forgets
Taking the old fence out is one line and getting rid of it is another. The second one is a weighbridge ticket at the transfer station, it is never small, and it is the single most commonly missing line in this trade. Drawlite warns about it on a quote that has demolition and no disposal, which is the same check made here when you tick the old fence off.
Gates are not fence
A gate leaf, braced, hung, latched and with a drop rod is most of a day's fiddling for one unit of something. It is counted, never run through the per foot rate.
